Over the last few months I've worked really hard at inner peace. Even though I don't have it 100% of the time, I will say my inner and outer life have benefited tremendously. I am in no way a walking yogi but I feel calmer most days, clear, and dare I say it, peaceful.
The main place that my wellness starts and ends from? Therapy. It really is as good as everyone says it is. Everyone is conditioned to go to the dentist because you need to take care of your teeth, you see a doctor to check-up on your body, why not take the same approach to your mind? Your mental health, which in my opinion is equally if not more important than your body.
This week I'm going to be discussing my own experiences with therapy, giving an inside peek at what its really like, answering any questions and giving tips on how to find the right one. I interviewed a therapist and I'll even have recs on some cool apps if you aren't ready for face to face visits.
In the meantime here's a HuffPost article about common therapy misconceptions.
Here's to mental health and overall wellness!
