Skin Savers For This Summer
Remember that cute word? Blemishes? I've heard it used in magazines when a reader has a pimple. It sounds so cute, a blemish. My skin has eruptions, of a volcanic nature. I've recently went all in on a skin care routine that's about 6-8 steps. The first 5 are mandatory. The next 3? I do depending on what my skin is doing and how tired I am. This winter, I had the first great skin season in years. I was all over InstaStories with no filter, finding my light!
Now It's Summer.
So far my skin has been mostly under control, but I've noticed some volcanic activity, especially around my forehead due to my bonnet and my nose. I've also covered 3 food festivals in 4 days, eating and rich, delicious foods and drinking all the rose I can stand. (Check out my coverage on Instagram) When this happens I add a few products and steps to my routine to get my skin back on track.
I use a combo of 3 products:
- A mask made of Aztec Clay & Organic Apple Cider Vinegar: thrown right on the spot
- Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Mattifying Sheet Mask - I put hyaluronic acid on before
- Pacifica Super Green Detox Kale and Charcoal Facial Mask: this I use with retinol 5%
- The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution : left on until it dries, then moisturizer after
EPIC tip: I use sheet masks with skin products underneath. It's a great time to let your skin soak your favorite serum.
