Golden Turmeric Milk
I came back from the vacation of a lifetime and to be honest I’m not handling it very well.
My nose is a little stuffy, I’m really exhausted, easily stressed. I think my body is having a reaction to all of the hormones & nonsense allowed in American food. To combat that I’ve been doing my best to eat real food, drinking green drinks, upping my vitamin intake and making sure I’m getting as much sleep and rest as possible.
I’ve recently added this Golden Tumeric Milk to my bedtime routine. It’s so delish that if I have time in the morning I add coffee to it and use it as a latte. Make as little or as much as you want and I’ve found it keeps overnight.
Having something warm and healthy before bed really soothes my soul and helps me get the sleep I need. I drink this after I do 1/2 of my face routine. While my night oil is sinking in and I’m thinking of what to wear tomorrow. Also if it’s a sheet mask night, this is a great drink to make before the mask then sip while it’s on.
2 cups Almond Milk
1 Cinnamon Stick
5 or 6 Cloves
2 TBSP Local Honey (i like my milk sweeter)
1 TBSP Ground Tumeric
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Put milk in a large sauce pan. You’ll have to whisk so having larger surface area is better.
Bring milk, cinnamon and cloves to a heavy simmer, right before boiling.
Add vanilla then whisk in tumeric. Bring to a slow boil.
Remove from heat and add honey.
If desired grate nutmeg on top.
