My 5 Step Bedtime Routine
To make sure I get a good night’s rest I follow a 5 step bedtime routine.
A bedtime routine let’s your body know ”hey, it’s time for us to sleep and rejuvenate” Ever stay up late bingeing a show, then abruptly shut it off, only to find you’re still wired and awake. A few simple tricks can avoid that. It doesn’t matter how late I stay up, I do at least 3 of the things on my routine.
An epsom salt bath - filling a tub with hot water then a few scoops of lavender epsom salts and a few drops of this body oil, is pure bliss. In a pinch I use baby oil, but be careful when getting out!
a mug of my magic elixir tea (tea with herbs, vinegar and citrus) or golden turmeric milk
a full skin care wind-down including sheet mask - I use a loose version of Korean Skin Care 10 step routine.
moisturizing my body with oil then heavy lotion- I got this idea after reading up on baby “after bath” massages. The massages help babies sleep plus keep the skin moisturized. Instead of just slapping lotion on my body in a rushed way, I take time to really rub it
straightening up my living room- I tend to lounge in my living room and then head to bed. Because I don’t like coming home to mess I would organize it in the morning when every minute counts. Taking 5 minutes to fluff pillows, put away any magazines & spray febreeze is huge. After work the first thing I see is a clean clear space that smells fresh.
